
Instrument Index in COMOS
The COMOS instrument Index contains the list of all the instruments that are being used or are to be used in the plant. The COMOS instrumentation report, which contains a list of instruments, is produced upon completion of the P&ID. Thereafter, your COMOS instrument index can be generated.

The COMOS I/O Schedule reports are derived from completed COMOS Loop Diagrams. They contain the list of instrumentation that serves as the input or output of the control system. Upon completion of the COMOS Loop Diagrams, your complete I/O Schedule can be generated.
COMOS RAT lists are generated from the combined information of completed COMOS P&IDs and COMOS Datasheets. It shows the system of device Ranges, Alarms, and Trips using signal engineering technology in COMOS.
COMOS intelligent Loop diagrams can be generated once the loop template & termination is done or vice versa. Loop Drawings detailed drawing showing a connection from any point of interest to the control system. It could be connection between:
- Field instrument to control system (or vice versa)
- Signal from Control Panel to control system (or vice versa)
- Signal from MCC to control system (or vice versa)
- Signal form one control system to another system
Contains specification and information of an instrument device. It specifies general information of instrument such as tag number identification, service description, line number/equipment number etc. COMOS datasheets can be imported to excel spreadsheet and reimported to COMOS. Revision control is one of the prides about COMOS datasheets. Once a revision has been released, a pdf copy is created on the database. When the P&ID’s and PFDs are linked and the process data is filled, the Information is automatically pulled through on the datasheet & the Line list.
When creating cable block diagrams on COMOS, the Instrument cable schedule & the panel schedule are generated in the background. The same instrument cable, instrument device and panel are used later when creating detail wiring and terminations. Through the navigator function you can navigate to each object or applicable drawings. COMOS allows multiple usage of each object(cables/instruments) on different deliverables.
Panel wiring drawing is a document that shows the detailed wiring information of each instrument, cables, and terminals at wire level. After creating loop drawings on COMOS you can generate a termination report that shows source/destination of a cable, wire colour coding, terminal numbers, field instrument and panel number. Through the navigation function, you can navigate to objects on the loop drawings/cable block diagrams.
Shows a detailed arrangement of a panel, material used to build/construct a panel, size, dimension, specifications, IP rating & the Bill of quantity. COMOS Panel GA are intelligent in such that all components & equipment dimensions are drawn to scale. The COMOS panel 3D viewer is one of the special features as you get to review the panel layout while still in design process. Then drawing the can be issued for procuring of panels to the vendor/supplier. The E&I Contractor will use it to create panel stands if required.

What is COMOS?
COMOS is an engineering design software platform that allows for multidiscipline designs (Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical) to be executed and integrated on one cloud-based system for a cohesive engineering solution. These software capabilities are an answer to problems that the Mining, Minerals and Metals industry has been facing using alternative traditional engineering design software commonly used for plant engineering projects.
Our Design Process
Each discipline has a designated Project Manager and Project Engineer from our client firms. These are the people heading up the design process. They then give our team the lead and direction to make it possible for our team to produce designs catered for their specific organisational needs. Our team of Engineering Designers would then transfer this vision into the COMOS platform and bring the designs alive with client standards and specifications adhered to.
